There's been a lot of talk about if and when Josh Bell would join the Pirates after making a literal splash in his debut just before the All-Star break. Thinking back on his grand slam, it's easy to see why fans would be eager for him to get his chance.
Fast forward to August 20 when news broke of an injury to Jung Ho Kang. He'd be joining the disabled list, and Bell would get his chance at a presumably longer stay.

If you remember back to 2011, it was a pretty talented draft class. Bell didn't go until the second round (that Gerrit Cole guy was the Pirates' first pick), despite being the acclaimed "best corner outfielder" or "best bat" by scouts, due to his promise to attend Texas and play baseball there. The Pirates took their chance, however, laid down a record signing bonus, and five years later have rung the bell to get Bell to the big leagues.
Bell arrived mid-game after leaving his game of Grand Theft Auto to join the club in Pittsburgh, here are some of my favorites from my first few innings with the first baseman of the future.
*Updated to add some shots from Bell's first start on Sunday.*
