Let's get this up front, since the Pitt football program made media access, of all things, the main issue Tuesday when Pat Narduzzi announced that his players and practices would be off-limits to reporters leading up to the Penn State game: I really don't care.

No, I mean it. I genuinely don't care.

From a business standpoint, access to a couple of student-athletes' quotes might not sell an additional subscription, nor coax a single existing subscriber to renew. Those quotes are nice to have. They're helpful, even thoughtful on occasion. But they barely move the needle when it comes to what we do.
