With Gregory Polanco on the 10-day disabled list, the Pirates are going to take a look at an internal option to try to bolster their outfield.
Jordan Luplow, who is batting .296 in 94 games between Double-A and Triple-A this season, is being recalled from Indianapolis and will join the Pirates for the start of their three-game series in San Diego on Friday, according to the Twitter account of his alma mater, Fresno State.
With eight pitchers in the Pirates' bullpen, left-hander Steven Brault is likely headed back to Indianapolis after making two relief appearances.
