Sunday's battle between the Steelers and the Vikings could have gone two ways. Players like Antonio BrownLe'Veon BellDalvin Cook and Stefon Diggs could have dominated the game with explosive plays, fantasy payouts and enough scoring to look like a college basketball game.

Or, the big boys could slug it out in the 85-degree trenches and the defenses could do their best to impersonate the Purple People Eaters and Steel Curtain of old.

The game ended up following the path of the second option, and, as well as the Vikings' defense contained Brown and Bell, it was the Steelers who ... re-forged their own curtain of steel and set the expectations for how the black and gold should defend throughout the next 14-18 games.

Let's take a look at some of my favorite images from the Steelers' 26-9 win over the Vikings. As you might have guessed, there are one or two or 10 of the defense coming from this game.
