Ben says 'everything was great' with AB taken at Highmark Stadium (Steelers)

The Antonio Brown saga continues.

Monday, reports circulated that Brown had a spat with Ben Roethlisberger during a walkthrough Wednesday, leading to drama throughout the week. Brown eventually appeared on the team's injury report with a knee injury, and he did not play in the team's season finale against the Bengals at Heinz Field.

While Brown was on the sidelines early Sunday, he was gone by halftime.

The rift is bad — so bad that many, including our own Dejan Kovacevic, are calling for the team to cut ties with the All-Pro receiver immediately.

But Roethlisberger sees things differently.

Speaking on his radio show Tuesday on 93.7 The Fan, Roethlisberger denied any major problems.

"If there was a blowup, I sure as heck didn't see it," Roethlisberger said.

Roethlisberger then added that he spoke with Brown Thursday before the Bengals game and "everything was great."

Digging into this a bit, there are various factors at play. Would Roethlisberger air personal, potentially damaging details in a public forum? Maybe. But probably not.

It's also possible the whole situation just didn't seem as serious from Roethlisberger's perspective. He may have seen Brown's "blowout" as nothing more than competitive fire. It certainly wouldn't be the first time Brown has outwardly expressed his frustration in a competitive setting.

Of course, it's also possible the entire situation is 100 percent legitimate as presented and Roethlisberger is simply playing it safe until the dust settles. Given the vast amount of sources — Post-Gazette, ESPN, NFL Network, our own and plenty more — it's safe to say this ordeal is far from done, no matter what Roethlisberger says.
