A TMZ.com report released Tuesday morning said police in Florida were called to investigate a domestic dispute involving Steelers receiver Antonio Brown in January.
The incident in question reportedly happened in Hollywood, Fla. Brown was not arrested or charged. Thus far, there are no reports of any kind of a physical confrontation.
Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten said the team is aware of these latest allegations against Brown but will not comment further pending a team investigation.
The incident is the latest in a string of issues for Brown in the past year. Last spring, he was investigated for throwing furniture from the balcony of an apartment in Florida. He was not charged by police in that case, but faces a civil suit from a man who claims he and a child were nearly injured by the falling furniture.
Brown also went after two different reporters on social media, threatening one with physical violence while calling the other a racist.
Finally, he skipped out on the Steelers before their regular season finale against the Bengals and has not returned phone calls from the organization, expressing a desire publicly to play elsewhere.
Though charges were not filed in this latest case, the NFL could still become involved. Recently, Kansas City running back Kareem Hunt was released by the Chiefs after video surfaced of him pushing and kicking a woman in a hotel. Hunt also was not charged by police in that incident, which happened last offseason.
