CINCINNATI -- The Pirates’ scheduled game with the Reds was rained out Saturday at Great American Ball Park.
The game will be made up on May 27 (Memorial Day) as part of a day-night doubleheader here. The first game will start at 1:10 p.m. and the nightcap will be played at 7:10 p.m.
Saturday’s scheduled game was set to begin at 2:10 p.m. but never started. It was called after a 40-minute delay.
The Pirates and Reds will complete what is now a two-game series at 1:10 p.m. tomorrow. Saturday's scheduled starters, Trevor Williams and Sonny Gray, were both pushed back a day.
Chris Archer remains on scheduled to pitch the home opener Monday against the Cardinals and Jameson Taillon will start Wednesday in the finale of the two-game series. Joe Musgrove, originally scheduled to start Sunday, will make his season debut sometime during the four-game series with Reds at PNC Park that begins next Thursday night.
The teams opened the season Thursday with the Reds winning, 5-3. They were off Friday.
