We're giving away Lunatic Bricks.
Oh, sure, I could share that our whole staff will be on hand to welcome subscribers at our spectacular fifth anniversary celebration Tuesday, July 23, 6 p.m., at Highmark Stadium. And that we'll offer refreshments. And that there'll be a bunch of cool giveaways, courtesy of our business partners. And that we'll keep that night's Pirates game on all three of our TVs. And that the whole thing won't cost you a penny.
But none of that's really necessary, is it?
Not when there are Bricks to be had.
In our family's recent move from one part of the 15222 to another, we uncovered a huge box of the original blue Bricks, as seen below in this classic episode of the 'The Simpsons:'

And, of course, in this Drake video:

And way before either of those, that one time four years ago when my now-15-year-old boy built a fortress out of the very first shipment:
So yeah, that's it. If we still owe you a Brick from a past purchase, come on down. If we owe you a Brick from a previous life, come on down. If we owe you a Brick, and you're anyone other than Dovydas Neverauskas, come on down.
Let's have some fun.
Taylor Haase has created a Facebook event page where you can let us know if you're coming or even if you're simply interested. It'll help us plan if you respond in any way.
Thanks in advance, and we all hope to see you!
MORE CONTENT ... NO SLOWING?
We've been offering more content than ever, I hope you've noticed. And the goal hasn't been to flood the site, to put it mildly, but to keep the wheels turning. We want you to want to tug on the app to refresh the home page. We want you to trust us to keep up with what's going on. We want you to feel like you've got a place to discuss these events as they occur.
Funny thing: Nothing's slowing down.
Although page views are up 33.47 percent from May to June -- all kinds of variables in there, but more content is one -- readers spent and average of 3:17 on a given page compared to 3:14, a slight increase. And while we did see a tiny decrease in the number of pages visited per session -- that's how often you'll open the app or site -- from 2.75 to 2.63, that's anything but an indicator of overload or fatigue.
The NHL Draft and the Penguins' subsequent moves really bolstered that. No matter how much Dave Molinari, Taylor Haase, Matt Sunday and I produced, it all kept getting read. And there was a lot.
I can't be certain what this means, but I'm struggling to find a negative.
VETERANS COUNT: 193
Josh DeNinno at Moon Golf Club wants to remind readers of his Veterans Challenge to our subscribers. Josh is buying 10 a month himself for a total of 100 in 2019, and he's challenging subscribers to achieve a goal of 1,000 by year's end. The current count is 193, so it's going to be a big climb in the second half.
More pressing, we've currently got 27 veterans requests, my daughter Dara informs, and we had one reader buy three vet subscriptions yesterday -- thank you! -- so we're at a minus-24 status at the moment. Here’s where to contribute. -- DK
LIFETIMES LEFT: 31
We've sold 69 Lifetime Lunatic subscriptions, including nine more this week, so only 31 remain toward our cap of 100. There's no plan to sell more in the foreseeable future. It costs $299. If you'd like one, buy it here. If you're an existing subscriber and want to go Lifetime, do the same thing, then email us at Help@DKPittsburghSports.com to let us know. We'll refund the remainder of your existing account. -- DK

WE'RE LISTENING
• The face/touch login won't be happening anytime soon, unfortunately. We're weighing other options. We'll keep you informed. -- DK
• In the interim, if you're logging in too often, delete the app from your device, power the device down completely, then reinstall the app. This has worked wonders for almost everyone who's tried it. -- DK
• If you enjoy the Hot Button feature and would like to receive app alerts when there's a new entry, open your app, then the menu on the top right corner, then ALERTS. Toggle the new Hot Button icon to ON. We had that added in the past week. -- DK
BACK TO BUSINESS
• New subscribers for 2019 are at 544. You can now track this figure daily at the bottom of the desktop and tablet versions of the site.
• Our daily active app users, averaged out over the past week, are at 12,877, broken down as 10,293 on Apple, 2,584 on Android. That total's plus-465 from the previous week. This figure will always fluctuate with the seasons and the news, so the goal is a steady, gradual increase, initially to 15,000, a number we've never achieved.
• Our daily page views, averaged out over the past 30 days, are at 86,626, up 33.5 percent from the previous 30 days, The goal with this figure is to average 100,000, a number we've achieved only during the two Stanley Cup runs.
• Our most-hit original article of the past week -- exempting live files -- was Taylor's breaking file on the Phil Kessel trade at 25,836. Our top seven files for the week were hockey, actually. The Penguins accounted for 230,043 page views, the Pirates 155,320 and the Steelers 90,395.
• We're at 32,581 (+83) followers on Twitter, we're at 32,151 (-36) page likes on Facebook, we're at 10,972 (+51) followers on Instagram. These figures are just for our official company account on each platform, not for us as individuals.
