The Pirates weren't done making moves before their series finale Sunday against the Brewers. Saturday, they made a six-player shuffle on the pitching staff. Sunday, prior to Game 3, the team announced they had recalled Kevin Kramer from Class AAA Indianapolis, optioning Montana DuRapau in the process.
This marks Kramer's second stint in the big leagues this season. He previously joined the Pirates from April 11 to April 16. He'll come into his second go 'round with some momentum at the Triple-A level, hitting .270 with 22 doubles, five home runs and 38 RBIs at the time of his promotion Sunday.
Along with his bat, Kramer brings versatility in the field to the table. He made 42 starts at second base, 10 starts at third base, nine starts in left field, four starts at shortstop and four starts in right field with the Indianapolis Indians this season. He will wear uniform No. 44.
