Nick Bjugstad, Jake Guentzel. -- MATT SUNDAY / DKPS

Nick Bjugstad will not play when the Penguins host the Maple Leafs at 7:08 p.m. on Saturday at PPG Paints Arena, Mike Sullivan confirmed in his pregame media availability.

Bjugstad left in the second period of Friday's game against the Devils with a lower-body injury.

“He’s still continuing to be evaluated," Sullivan said of Bjugstad's status. "He’s got a few more tests. We’ll have more information here over the next couple of days.”

Joseph Blandisi was recalled early Saturday morning due to Bjugstad's status, and Sidney Crosby was put on injured reserve to create a roster spot.

There is good news, though: Patric Hornqvist and Kris Letang have both resumed skating.
