DENVER -- OK, so the Penguins haven't suffered a season-altering injury since last year. (Way back on Dec. 30, to be precise). Does that mean their luck is turning, or is Cruel Fate just taking some post-holidays time off? One thing that remains constant is their ability to pick up points with a seriously diluted lineup, most recently in a 4-3 victory in Las Vegas Tuesday.
With Sidney Crosby seemingly on the verge of returning after an absence of nearly two months while recovering from surgery to repair a sports hernia, will the Penguins be able to elevate their team game even higher? And when Crosby returns, who do you play him with, and why?
What about goaltending? Matt Murray played his best game in quite a while last Saturday in Montreal. Should Mike Sullivan read that as the potential start of a return to form for Murray and get him a few more starts, or should he continue to lean heavily on Tristan Jarry, who made the transition from trade bait to all-star in what might be record time.
This is the place to discuss those things, and anything else Penguins-related that strikes your fancy.
Post questions and observations at your convenience, and I'll respond over the course of the day. There will be some downtime in late afternoon while I cover the Penguins' practice, but I will tie up any loose ends once that is over.
