Staff picks: Will Steelers keep hope alive? taken at Heinz Field (Steelers)

The Browns' Baker Mayfield.

Each week, our football staff at DK Pittsburgh Sports predicts the Steelers' game, and below are the picks for the game against the Browns, Monday, 8:15 p.m., at Heinz Field.

For a full preview, check my Kickoff.

Dale Lolley (8-7): Ben Roethlisberger is 25-3-1 in his career against the Browns. Also, Cleveland is 2-5 on the road and averaging 16 points per game over its past 10 games. Oh, I guess we should mention that this is Roethlisberger's final regular-season start at Heinz Field and that the Steelers have won 19 consecutive home Monday night games. Steelers, 20-17

Ramon Foster (6-9): I got Steelers either way! They can’t lose! The city will celebrate No. 7 and show the Browns something they’ve never had, and that’s a winner at QB! Steelers, 27-18

Chris Carter (8-7): It will be a bizarre game between two inconsistent this year. This, like the 2019 Heinz Field win over the Browns with Devlin Hodges at quarterback, will be a low-scoring game in which Roethlisberger puts together enough in the end to win his sendoff. Steelers, 23-16

Tom Reed (7-8): To paraphrase the Big Lebowski, "New stuff has come to light." We made our picks before the Bengals won the division and the Browns were eliminated from the playoff race. I had picked Cleveland, 20-17, but the Browns have little incentive now and the Steelers want to send Ben out a winner. Steelers, 24-17

Eddie Provident (8-7): If there's one team I trust less than the Steelers in the AFC North, it's the Browns. Couple Cleveland's inconsistency with Big Ben's last home regular season game and I think the Steelers finally give fans a relaxing win. After all, this football team is due to show some emotion. Steelers, 24-10

Dejan Kovacevic (7-8): Ben vs. the Browns? Ha! Ben vs. Baker Mayfield? HA! Steelers, 31-18
