Bryan Reynolds.

For the second year in a row, Bryan Reynolds has been named a finalist for a Silver Slugger.

The Pirates' center fielder may not have been able to match his 2021 campaign offensively, but still remained one of the top hitting outfielders in the National League. He slashed .262/.345/.461 with 27 home runs, 62 RBIs and a 126 OPS+.

Those 27 homers are a new career high.

"I don't necessarily think I made any power changes," Reynolds said at the end of the season. "Just feels like every ball I hit hard was either an out or a single right at an outfielder. Just how it was this year. Maybe next year I'll sprinkle some doubles into those numbers."

The 2022 season was a bit rocky for the Pirates' top hitter, as he slumped at the beginning of the season and then had an injured list stint in July with a strained oblique. The final results were still quite good, but he is shooting for more.

"It was just a lot of ups and downs, but overall, [I was] relatively pleased with how it came together at the end," he said in that same interview.

Reynolds is one of nine nominees for the three National League awards, alongside Mookie Betts of the Dodgers, Kyle Schwarber of the Phillies, Juan Soto of the Nationals, Joc Pederson of the Giants, Michael Harris II of the Braves, Hunter Renfroe of the Brewers and Brandon Nimmo and Starling Marte of the Mets.

The winners will be announced on MLB Network at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10.
