Kovacevic: Final week (forever) to be part of our Building Bricks wall! taken in Downtown (Site Stuff)

DEJAN KOVACEVIC / DKPS

All of the Building Bricks from Phase 1, 224 Fifth Avenue, Downtown.

This marks the final week to be part of our Building Bricks wall inside the Downtown HQ/shop.

As in, the for-real forever last call.

Our deadline was set at May 31 -- that's next Friday -- to complete commitments for the final offering of the Building Bricks we originally sold in 2022 to help fund construction of the HQ. And we're doing this wave because so many readers and listeners have seen these Bricks in the interim and lamented that they weren't part of the first phase.

Well, we've had 65 new commitments in this second phase through Saturday night, that on top of the 154 in the first phase. Which leaves room for probably another 20, since there's only so much wall and we want to keep it presentable. And the reason we've made a deadline is that we want the whole wall done by our company's 10th anniversary celebration July 23.

It'll be the same three categories of Bricks at the same price with the same layout by the same Strip-based company:

GOLD, $1,000: Yeah, that's a ton. But I also know we've been blessed beyond words to have a few well-to-do benefactors over the years, like one of the readers who originally suggested this. These Bricks are 12x6 inches, they allow space for your name and a significant-sized message, plus you'll get an exact replica of the Brick to keep.

BLUE, $250: These are 10x3 inches, they allow space for your name and a message, plus you'll get an exact replica of the Brick to keep.

BLACK, $75: These are 5x2, and they allow space for your name and, unfortunately, the cost to make them exceeds what it would take for us to create replicas.

If you're interested, we keep the process simple: Email me directly with your color/price preference at DK@DKPittsburghSports.com. From there, I'll respond and forward to Dali, who'll reach out to you for all the details, messaging, payment, etc.

Thanks for reading and, as ever, for your support of this venture.

INSIDE THE WORKS

• No Pittsburgh sports coverage is read as much as ours. Think about that for a second. We're almost a decade into this, but our competition comes from a newspaper that's more than 200 years old, and we have more readership of our sports content. The numbers are below, and nobody in this market can match them. My columns alone are averaging between 15K-25K per read, which is more than I was ever read at any newspaper. Probably ought to make a bigger deal out of that than I do.

Taylor Haase took the initiative to travel to Michigan this week for the terrific piece currently atop the app/site on the Penguins' top prospect, Brayden Yager. No one offers the hockey coverage we do.

• We've had issues that've affected our blind readers for a couple weeks now, and our BoomPress developers got those fixed ... but there've been some other unwanted effects on the app/site that they're now working to remedy. Best solution for anything that gives you trouble: Delete the app and reinstall.

• Our 10th anniversary celebration will be July 23 at the HQ/shop. We've already heard from quite a few of you planning to attend, including some from well out of town. For anyone looking into a longer trip, know that the Pirates and Cardinals have a three-game series at PNC Park at that time, so it's a nice double-dip.

• Everyone loving being ad-free? If you're not there yet, it's only for paying subscribers. If you aren't subscribed yet or if your subscription's expired: This is our subscribe page. Make sure you're logged in, tap on the link, and thumb down to the bottom for the SUBSCRIBE button to buy/renew at the monthly or annual level. We also offer discounts, as ever, for student subscriptions and senior subscriptions.

• Grateful that so many of you continue to leave us good reviews on outside platforms. There've been hundreds of reviews already. For anyone who hasn't yet, feel free to add your own on our Google listing, our Apple or Spotify podcast channels, our YouTube channels for the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and, last but not least, our own app, whether it's the Apple or Android version. And again, thank you!
