THE SETUP
This is it. The real season. The 16th consecutive playoff appearance -- longest active streak in professional sports -- is about to play out, for better or ... well, for a fourth consecutive first-round exit.
If you missed it, this was my playoff preview column this morning. Taylor Haase and I are here for Games 1 and 2, and we'll additionally have special-edition Drive to the Net pieces done remotely by new full-time hire Danny Shirey after each game.
The Rangers canceled their morning skate, and the Penguins' skate that begins at 11:30 a.m. will be an optional. Their media availability will begin at 11:45 a.m.
