Gabe Wood became the first pitcher since 1960 to throw a no-hitter in the College World Series, as the University of Arkansas junior beat Murray State, 3-0, in an elimination game. Wood also set a record for most strikeouts in a CWS game, setting down 19 Racers.

Wood lost a perfect game in the top of the 8th, hitting Dom Decker with a pitch. Decker would be the only Racer to reach base int he game. Incredible moment and incredibly rare — just the third no-hitter ever in the CWS —surprising considering many of the dominant college pitchers who have been through the CWS over the years.
