Former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy and his legal team is negotiating with Louisiana State Police to turn himself in after he was charged with two felonies for his part in causing a fatal crash on December 17, then fleeing the scene.
Lacy is charged with felony hit-and-run and negligent homicide for allegedly driving a Dodge Charger at a reckless speed and making dangerous lane changes, including into oncoming traffic in the other direction, as he sped through traffic. Lacy's move into oncoming traffic forced a driver to break abruptly, which caused a chain reaction car crash which killed former U.S. Marine Herman Hall and injured two others.
Lacy sped from the scene of the accident, then declared for the NFL Draft two days later. Lacy's agent released a statement Friday, which read in part, “We are aware of the allegations that have been made regarding Kyren Lacy and we want to take this opportunity to address them. First and foremost, Kyren is fully cooperating with authorities. We strongly believe that the facts will ultimately demonstrate the truth but we respect the need for a full and thorough investigation."
This young man is in some serious trouble, likely throwing away a future before it's even started. Terrible all around.
