Diontae Johnson is a Raven again, but not really. Baltimore claimed their former receiver off waivers — the Texans released him after their win Saturday over the Chargers — but Johnson won't be assigned to the active roster until after the Super Bowl, when he will likely be released for the fourth time in a calendar year — twice by the Ravens.
This is a shrewd move by the Ravens, eliminating Johnson from a potential signing with any of the seven other playoff teams remaining, though at this point I'm not sure who would want him. Also by having Johnson on the roster now, the Ravens may get a future compensatory draft pick as a veteran who leaves in free agency.
DJ seems to think he should be no worse than a WR2 after just stepping on anyone's roster — he pouted in the Texans locker room after their playoff win because he didn't get targets, one supposes. Humble up, DJ, or it's going to be a long winter. He already quit on the Ravens during a game, then was dismissed by the Texans for a bad attitude. That's a tough rep to overcome.
