Earlier this season I asked subscribers what they wanted me to ask players for Survey Says questions this year, and tcollins999 wanted to know: What is the most used app on your phone?
Here's how the Penguins answered.
Jack St. Ivany: “Right now, it would probably be texts. But Rutger and I play the eight ball game in the texts. So that’s my most used.”
Noel Acciari: “Karl and I do the Wordle every day. Rusty does it too. But my kids try to watch their things on YouTube, too. So it might be a mix. Wordle, Instagram, YouTube. Probably those.”
Erik Karlsson: “It would have to be email.”
Ville Koivunen: “Probably Snapchat, talking to all my friends.”
Matt Dumba: “Sleeper. It’s a NFL fantasy football app.”
Harrison Brunicke: “Hmmmmmm. Probably TikTok.”
Stuart Skinner: “Probably YouTube.”
Tristan Jarry: “Probably the NHL app. (Me: Checking the standings?) Yeah. And DAZN, to watch the games. I like to watch a lot of hockey, so probably checking scores and flipping through the games.”
Tommy Novak: “Probably YouTube. I fall asleep to YouTube.”
Rutger McGroarty: “YouTube, by a mile. I’ve been getting into food, like watching how they make sushi, or how to make different types of steaks.”
Kris Letang: “It’s either between YouTube or Sudoku.”
Rickard Rakell: “Probably Amazon. (Me: What are you doing on Amazon that much??) Buying stuff!”
Arturs Silovs: “Probably Instagram, I would assume, just watching jokes. YouTube and Netflix too, I would say.”
Ben Kindel: “Probably Messages, or Snapchat.”
Sidney Crosby: “I don’t want to say our team app, because that’s kind of boring. Maybe Spotify. Or audiobooks, does that count? On Apple. Because I do all the audiobooks, I can’t take reading. I fall asleep in five minutes. I do audiobooks. If I’m in the car, I’ll listen to that or Spotify.”
Connor Dewar: “I’d say YouTube.”
Justin Brazeau: “Not Messenger … probably Instagram or TikTok.”
Parker Wotherspoon: “Probably Instagram. And I play a game called Brawl Stars a lot.”
Connor Clifton: “Probably Spotify.”
Sergei Murashov: “I think Telegram. Just chatting with my friends and family and a few channels I’m following. But it’s only 30 minutes a day.”
Blake Lizotte: “I just deleted social media not too long ago. Probably just texting. Or Google Maps."
Anthony Mantha: “The text messages app.”
Brett Kulak: “Outside of FaceTime, either the weather app or Realtor.Ca. (Me: What are you doing on the realtor app?) I’m always just browsing different real estate, like in my town. I usually pop into it once a day.”
Joona Koppanen: “I’d say WhatsApp or Instagram.”
Ryan Graves: “I mean, probably Instagram? It’s so bad, I hate my phone.”
Kevin Hayes: “FaceTime.”
Ryan Shea: “Probably Twitter. I’m a big sports guy, so that’s where I get all the football, baseball, all the other sports that I don’t know much about compared to hockey.”
Bryan Rust: “On the road, it’s probably FaceTime, FaceTiming the family. Then, schnarps, the card game. I have an app on my phone that I play a lot on the bus, just trying to kill time.”
