Probably not ideal for the Penguins to have Max Plante, sitting next to his younger brother Victor, lobbying for their oldest brother and Penguins prospect Zam to play two more years of college so he can become an unrestricted free agent and join them both in Detroit's system:

All three will be teammates (and likely linemates) at Minnesota-Duluth next season. Typically if a college player is going to wait until free agency and sign with a team of their choosing, there would be no incentive for an acquiring team to waste any assets and trade for him. But at least Max will presumably go pro in 2027-28, and if the Red Wings want Zam to turn pro at the same time, then it could make sense to offer something for him.
