• Bryan Rust and Travis Konecny are yelling at each other in the penalty boxes. Konecny threw an elbow, Rust grabbed him from behind was what initiated the whole thing. Can easily read Konecny's lips calling Rust a "f---ing coward."
• We've got a little brawl now. Ryan Shea and Christian Dvorak are the most into it, wrestling on the ground. Travis Konecny shook his gloves off at Bryan Rust but Rust skated away. Erik Karlsson was briefly chasing Travis Sanheim.

• End of the first. Evgeni Malkin has the Penguins up 1-0. Shots are 11-11.
• I mean, if you're in Sidney Crosby's position there, play isn't even happening, you're not anticipating getting cracked in the face with a stick. So I'd imagine you'd recoil a little dramatically.
• They called two on Garnet Hathaway for high-sticking. And they called two on Sidney Crosby for embellishment.
• Garnet Hathaway just clipped Sidney Crosby in the face with his stick while Crosby was leaning down for a faceoff. Didn't look intentional, but high-sticking isn't based on intent. Officials are discussing what to do.
• This has been the most intense period so far of this series. The first two games were just tight, low-event hockey for the most part. Not this.
• Now they're chanting "F--- THE PENGUINS!"
• Gritty just tossed a human-sized stuffed penguin off the upper deck. Fans in the crowd were throwing it down and almost threw it on the Penguins' bench but it got intercepted by an usher.
• A loud "F--- YOU PITTSBURGH" chant starts.
• Loud boos every time Sidney Crosby has the puck.
• Great start from the Penguins, goal aside. Outshooting the Flyers 8-5 at the five-minute mark. Finally generating offense.
• The scratches don't often have big celebrations for goals but the guys in the press box here sure cheered for that one.
• GOAL: Evgeni Malkin on the power play from Bryan Rust and Sidney Crosby. Penguins 1, Flyers 0
• Penguins get a power play with 16:39 left in the first. Sean Couturier tripped Sam Girard.
• Decent first two minutes for the Penguins. Got a couple of shots out of it. More than they generated in the whole first period in Game 1.
• This is underway.
• Shane Gillis is here. The comedian.
• A hostile environment for Penguins fans, it seems. A lot of them are alone, or at least the lone Penguins fan in their group. Every time one gets up, they get booed by their whole section. The section at the far end was just chanting "A--HOLE" at one.

• Heard another roar of boos and I look up, and it's just Sidney Crosby getting off the ice for warmups. They were sad to see him go, I think.
• Gritty is standing at the Penguins' end of the ice for warmups and is just staring them down. He hasn't moved all warmups.
• Warmups haven't even started yet but the citizens of Philadelphia have a "CROSBY SUCKS!" chant going.
