Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner said on the Penguins' pregame show on SportsNet Pittsburgh that Sidney Crosby, his teammate on Team Canada at the recent Olympics, sustained a Grade 2 MCL sprain at the Games. A Grade 2 MCL sprain is a moderate or partial tear of the ligament, which can cause instability in the knee.
"It was really unfortunate for our team," Marner said. "He skated the day after and the next day, and he looked like he had nothing wrong with him, which is incredibly impressive with how bad that injury is and how it makes people feel and skate."
