Morning, everyone. Here comes a skate. I’ll share.
Reminder: It’s to be read from the bottom up:
► FOLLOW ALONG
• That's that. These skates aren't exactly going to overflow with hot info the rest of the way. Nature of being totally out of it. See everyone back here later today.
• I asked Sullivan if he thought that the Panthers might set off a copycat trend throughout the NHL, as his 2016-17 Penguins did. You know, being all snarly 'n' at:
• Ryan Shea’s out here skating. He's been out with an upper-body injury. He’s getting closer. Tommy Novak and P.O Joseph didn’t make the trip.
• Tristan Jarry will start tonight, per Mike Sullivan.
• Super-intensive soccer/volleyball match happening here 10 feet away from me: Swedes vs. Sids. Erik Karlsson and Rickard Rakell vs. Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust. Karlsson’s a maniac, screaming through the whole thing. They set up railings and tape. Yeah, hard to describe. Fun. Rust’s the header guy. Rakell … isn’t at his best in this setting. I mean, I’m the only one here watching. Someone’s gotta do the intrepid reporting, right?
• The Panthers aren't in the building. That's because they played last night -- and lost, 6-3 -- in Washington. That's how the Penguins were able to get the 10:30 a.m. time slot that almost always goes to the home team.
