As previously reported a number of times, forward Filip Hallander is interested in coming back to North America, the Penguins are interested in having him back, and his Swedish club Timra has ben going about this season preparing as if he would not be back next season. The Penguins still own Hallander's North American rights, so he can only sign with the Penguins if he does come back.
Timra was eliminated from the SHL playoffs on Monday, and they just posted a message on social media thanking Hallander for his time there, confirming that he is leaving:
Hallander, 24, finished No. 2 in the SHL in scoring in the regular season with 53 points (26 goals, 27 assists) in 51 games. He went without a point in Timra's six playoff games.
