Kevin Acklin, the Penguins' president of business operations, will be leaving his role.
Teddy Werner, a partner at Fenway Sports Group, made the announcement at the Penguins Foundation’s annual Night of Assists Gala at Rivers Casino on the North Shore. Acklin confirmed the news overnight to the Pittsburgh Business Times.
"After seven incredible seasons with the Penguins, I have decided that I will be moving on from my role as president of business operations," Acklin said in a statement. "I'm grateful to Fenway Sports Group for the opportunity to help lead this organization, to my colleagues for their dedication and to our fans for their unwavering support."
Acklin, a Pittsburgh native, was named president of business operations in 2022, and, before that, was chief operating officer. He said he'll stay with the team as an advisor through 2025.
"It has been an honor to serve the team I grew up cheering for. I will forever be proud to be a Penguin, and I look forward to the next steps in my career while continuing my service to Pittsburgh."
