P.O Joseph suffered an upper-body injury after a hit in the Penguins' 3-2 loss to the Bruins on Saturday and didn't return to the game.
Joseph was on the other end of a collision that resulted in an injury early in the game -- Brad Marchand was skating into the corner with the puck with Joseph behind him. Marchand lost his footing as he was going into the boards, and contact from Joseph exacerbated the fall and sent Marchand head-first into the boards:
Joseph didn't receive a penalty on the play, and the Bruins weren't pleased, and seemed to be targeting him then after. Later in the period he was hit by two Bruins at once in the corner -- receiving most of the contact from Mark Kastelic -- and went down. He was able to get up and skate off under his own power after a few moments, but didn't return to the game. Mike Sullivan didn't have an update on Joseph's status after.
If Joseph can't play against the Maple Leafs on Sunday, Ryan Graves and Vladislav Kolyachonok remain options to replace him on defense.
MORE FROM THE GAME

• Kevin Hayes won 10 of his 12 faceoffs.
• Rickard Rakell drew a double minor late in the game for being high-sticked in the face and drawing substantial blood. He ended up scoring on the power play that resulted. His face still looked pretty messed up postgame.

• Erik Karlsson had six giveaways. Nobody else had more than three.
