• GOAL: Penguins get one into the empty net. Bryan Rust with his 29th goal of the season, setting a new career high in goals. Penguins 4, Devils 2

• GOAL: Sidney Crosby drops to one knee on the power play and buries a Bryan Rust feed to take the lead. Penguins 3, Devils 2
• Penguins to the PK with eight minutes left. Cody Glass sits for high-sticking.
• Power play coms to an end, but Penguins had some dangerous chances on it. Best looks came with Erik Karlsson, Kris Letang, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Valtteri Puustinen out there together late.
• Third period is underway. Penguins have a full two-minute power play to start.
• For anyone wondering, Valtteri Puustinen's other NHL goal this season was in Marc-Andre Fleury's last game in Pittsburgh in October.
• Penguins get a power play after the period ends, Brett Pesce slashed Bryan Rust. They'll have a two-minute power play to open the third. Huge.

• Evgeni Malkin had four of the Penguins' 10 shots.
• End of the first. Penguins trail, 2-1. Evgeni Malkin credited with their lone goal that period. Devils have a 12-10 edge in shots. As poor as their start was here, to only be down one and to have nearly erased the huge shot differential is pretty good.
• GOAL: Penguins cut the lead in half just as the power play expires. Luke Hughes was trying to dig the puck out of the crease and put it into his own net. Evgeni Malkin had just taken a couple whacks at it, it's his goal. Devils 2, Penguins 1

• Moment of silence for Ray Shero pregame:
• GOAL: Aaaand the Devils score 15 seconds in. First shot, first goal. Bad Conor Timmins pinch leads to an Erik Haula breakaway. I think that's their fifteenth first shot, first goal. Devils 1, Penguins 0
