The Penguins have nearly filled out Dan Muse's coaching staff, hiring Nick Bonino, Rich Clune and Todd Nelson as assistants.
But they're not done yet.
I asked Kyle Dubas tonight about the division of responsibilities for the hires, and he said they're looking to bring on one more assistant coach to manage the defense and penalty-kill.
Nelson will run the power play. Bonino's focus, Dubas explained, will be with faceoffs and to "start to learn all about coaching." Clune won't be behind the bench, but will be the "eye in the sky" and focus on development at the NHL level.
Additionally, Sheldon Brookbank was moved from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's coaching staff to a full-time development role. Brad Malone, hired earlier this offseason, is Brookbank's replacement in Wilkes-Barre, joining Nick Luukko on Kirk MacDonald's staff.
