The Penguins on Monday put P.O Joseph on injured reserve after he sustained an upper-body injury in Saturday’s game against the Bruins.
Joseph is on injured reserve retroactive to Saturday. Regular injured reserve is only seven days, so he’ll miss at least the next two games against the Avalance and Golden Knights.
Regular injured reserve opens up a roster spot and provides no cap relief. No subsequent move was made, so this brings the Penguins to 22 players on the roster against the 23-man limit. The 23-man limit goes away after Friday’s trade deadline.
