Earlier in the season I put out a call for what questions our readers want to see in Survey Says features this year, and I got some good suggestions.
To start off this season's questions we'll go with one from subscriber Tinn, who wanted to know what Penguins players' coffee orders are. Here's how they answered.
Parker Wotherspoon: “I actually don't drink coffee. OK, wait, that's kind of a lie. I've had three this year for the first time ever. My girlfriend gave me a pecan latte one time. I liked it. But now it's not there at Starbucks anymore, so now I just go for like, the caramel latte. I've had three in my life, though.”
Harrison Brunicke: “It depends. I like that pumpkin spice cold brew at Starbucks, that was pretty good. That’s my guilty pleasure drink. Or just a plain cold brew, or a warm latte is pretty good too.”
Noel Acciari: “For Dunkin Donuts. it's a large iced coffee with butter pecan and skim milk. And then for Tim Hortons, it's a large, hot, half regular, half French vanilla.”
Matt Dumba: “Usually just a plain, black coffee. I’m a grown-ass man.”
Arturs Silovs: “I don’t really drink coffee, just these pre-workouts. I just feel like I get too dehydrated.”
Ben Kindel: “I don’t drink coffee, or anything with caffeine.”
Justin Brazeau: "I just like a regular cold brew."
Rickard Rakell: "Either just a black coffee, or a cappuccino."
Tommy Novak: “I don’t drink a lot of coffee, but if I do, it’s cream and sugar.”
Sidney Crosby: “I’d say a long shot.”
Ville Koivunen: “I don’t drink coffee, but I drink energy drinks before the games.”
Kevin Hayes: “Large iced coffee, almond milk.”
Sam Poulin: “Regular coffee, with half and half.”
Rutger McGroarty: “Starbucks, a cold brew with oat milk.”
Blake Lizotte: “Just straight, black coffee. I don’t really like the foo-foo drinks.”
Anthony Mantha: “Starbucks, grande iced latte.”
Kris Letang: “Cortado.”
Tristan Jarry: “I don’t drink coffee. (Me: Do you drink anything with caffeine?) No.”
Connor Clifton: “I usually go Starbucks — not (in Sweden)! — I do a grande cold brew, black.”
Bryan Rust: “It depends on the day, what I’m looking for. If I’m looking for just a nice little coffee, probably an iced latte. If I need a real pick-me-up, I’ll add a couple of shots to that.”
Danton Heinen: “Americano, black.”
Connor Dewar: “Just a black coffee.”
Ryan Shea: “I don’t drink coffee, I never have. It depends on the game, but I’ll have a Red Bull with Karl and Tanger sometimes before the game, but that’s about it. I’m not really a caffeine guy.”
Sergei Murashov: “Cappuccino, medium, hot, whole milk, and sometimes caramel.”
Phil Tomasino: “Just plain, black iced coffee. I’m pretty basic. Maybe that, or an americano.”
Ryan Graves: “I like a hot americano in the morning, and then I like an iced americano in the afternoon. I’ll occasionally make an iced latte, but more often than not just a black coffee. I love coffee.”
