Robertson was one of 15 players around the league to file, a list that also included his brother Jason. Players who file for arbitration forfeit their ability to receive offer sheets, though they can still be traded.
Teams can file for arbitration until Monday at 5 p.m. Salary arbitration hearings will be held from July 20 to Aug. 1, though very few -- if any -- of the cases will actually reach their hearing date. Filing for arbitration often just speeds up the timeline to getting a deal done.
Robertson is one of six Penguins restricted free agents who still need to be signed, joining Egor Chinakhov, Arturs Silovs, David Gustafsson, Ville Koivunen and Joel Blomqvist.
