Sidney Crosby sat down with former teammate Jussi Jokinen for an interview with Finnish/Swedish TV channel V Sport at the World Championship in Stockholm, Sweden.
On how long he wants to keep playing: "I mean, definitely those two years (left on his contract). And I think at that point I'll just see where I'm at. But as long as my body feels good and I still have the passion for it every day, that's the biggest thing. You have to love it, and I still do right now. As long as it keeps going that way, I'd love to keep playing if I can play at a high level."
On if he's thought about playing somewhere other than Pittsburgh after missing the playoffs again: "No. I think I've been so invested in just trying to find ways to get (to the playoffs). I mean, there's obviously moves that we made. We have some younger guys and things like that. So that's part of the process, I think. But ultimately, every night you go out there, you want to play to win and play to get in the playoffs. So I think I've been just so kind of invested in what we're trying to do that I haven't given a lot of thought. But I think that with each year, you want to get back there, for sure. It's not fun watching the playoffs, you want to be in it. That's what you work hard for all year, but it's hard to get in. It's not easy. Having played in the playoffs for a while, you understand that it's a great time of year."
His thoughts on Finnish players: "Always really hard workers. You know, every guy I played with that was Finnish was a really hard worker and really committed to every aspect of the game. Whether they were skilled or maybe a guy like Olli (Maatta) who's more defensive, he still took a lot of pride in creating offense. But ultimately, I think it was just the structure that they played with just their commitment to the team. They take what they do seriously. They love the game a lot, but they're willing to play within the team structure, whatever that needs to be. I've always had great, great teammates from Finland."
