I caught up with Ville Koivunen after Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's practice on Thursday about Game 1, preparing for a must-win Game 2, and how different he feels being back in the AHL after his NHL stint to finish the season.
"I wasn't at my best," Koivunen said of Game 1. "I had a couple of chances, our line had a couple of chances. But I think we could be better, especially on the power play. We had two missed five-on-three (powerplays). We need to score there. I have to be better next game."
Any struggles didn't come from a lack of confidence, though. Koivunen said his confidence is "pretty high" coming back down to the AHL after seeing NHL time, including top-line time with Sidney Crosby.
"When I went there, it went pretty well and I had pretty good linemates," he said. "It was a fun time, and I feel like my confidence is pretty high."
