On a night in which the Pirates offense went 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base, EndyRodriguez was a bright light in an 11-2 loss to the Athletics at Sutter Health Park.
Rodriguez went 3 for 3 with a walk and an eighth-inning solo homer, his third of the year, that upped his season average to .268. His three hits set a new season high, but Rodriguez has now posted six multi-hit performances, including two over his last four games.
"Endy had great at-bats tonight," DonKelly said. "The hits to right field, then the last one to be able to drive it to left-center, he’s been swinging the bat well."
