The Pirates lost to the Marlins, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon at PNC Park. Paul Skenes dominated while the offense had a down day. However, it all could have been very different without one play.
Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Jake Mangum came to the plate with the bases loaded and two outs. Max Meyer had been kept the Pirates' bats quiet to that point, but the lineup finally had him on the ropes. Mangum swung on the first pitch and hit a low line drive with an exit velocity of 94.5 mph. However, Jakob Marsee pounced on it, tracked it down and made a phenomenal diving catch to rob Mangum of a hit and the Pirates of a potential lead:

"We got some guys on base and into scoring position," Don Kelly said after the game. "I thought that was the play of the game there."
