Don Kelly said they didn’t think too much about having Paul Skenes go toe-to-toe with Tarik Skubal in yesterday’s doubleheader in Detroit.
"I think from us as a group, yes, we care about the game and everything," Kelly said. "But we care about our players and felt like that was the best thing for Paul Skenes and (Andrew) Heaney was ready to go game one. Felt like that was the best opportunity for our guys to be prepared for each individual game."
