All 300 of Marcell Ozuna’s career homers played on a loop in the Pirates clubhouse this afternoon in celebration of his latest milestone. Players seemed to find nothing but enjoyment out of watching the compilation, including the man himself. I don't think the smile left his face for a single second.
"It was really cool of Kevin (Roach) to put that together," Don Kelly said. "It's amazing to hit 300 home runs in the major leagues and he was saying he remembers every single one of them, which might be even more impressive. He was talking about each one as they went; the pitcher, the situation, it's really cool. He's earned that."
Mitch Keller confirmed he is not one of the pitchers allowing home runs on this compilation. He said he had to check to make sure before congratulating Ozuna on the milestone. The pitcher featured most: NickPivetta. Ozuna has six career homers against him. He had five against JulioTeheran.
"The thing that's always stood out to me is the way he's able to drive the ball the other way," said Kelly, who spent time as a teammate with Ozuna in Miami. "When he's going good, he has that right-center power, like he did at home last week when he went to the right of the batter's eye and hit it out that way. He can pull it anywhere, but when he's going to right-center, he's in a really good spot."
