Major League Baseball has handed Chris Devenski a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing at Cincinnati’s Sal Stewart in Saturday’s game at PNC Park.
Additionally, Don Kelly has been suspended one game and has received an undisclosed fine. He will serve it tonight here in Arizona and bench coach Kristopher Negron will serve as acting manager. Unless appealed, Devenski’s suspension is scheduled to begin tonight. If Devenski elects to appeal, then the discipline will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
