While the late-game collapse by the Pirates bullpen led to an 11-9 loss to the Astros here tonight at Daikin Park, the offensive effort was certainly worthy of a better outcome. 

Henry Davis hit a grand slam to shift the momentum in the Pirates' favor in the fourth inning and Nick Gonzales drove in three runs on two hits, including a seventh-inning homer, as part of a rather historic output.

Nine runs were scored for a fourth straight game, marking the first time since 1928 that a Pirates team has scored at least nine runs in that many consecutive games. They've now homered in 10 straight games for the first time since 2022 and they've hit multiple homers in a fifth straight game for only the sixth time in the Modern Era and first since 2014.

"Again, we had great at-bats throughout the lineup and continued to add on runs," Don Kelly said of an offense that has now scored 44 runs over their last five games. "We need to continue to do that as we go through the season."
