I asked NickGonzales for his thoughts on Paul Skenes' efforts tonight and he said it looked like he threw every single pitch with intent and knew exactly where he wanted to locate it. Gonzales credited both Skenes and HenryDavis for how locked in they were as a duo, calling it "impressive."
“Sometimes you kind of sit back, and were so used to the ball not getting hit and not getting hit hard, you’re kinda just watching," Gonzales told me. "There were some times where I was like, ‘Oh, I’m still out here on defense. I gotta lock in.’ When he’s in a groove like that, you can kinda just sit and watch."
