Colin Holderman (right knee sprain) has rejoined the team in Los Angeles ahead of their three-game set against the Dodgers. He's not active yet but Derek Shelton said before tonight's game that he would assume Holderman would be activated at some point this weekend.
The right-handed reliever was on the field pre-game and was in the bullpen during warmups as well. His return to the team comes after making two appearances with Class AAA Indianapolis on a rehab assignment.
"This is the best I’ve felt on the mound for a long time and I’m excited to get back out there and dominate," Holderman said.
Holderman threw 1 2/3 innings for Indianapolis and gave up three hits and one earned run while striking out one and walking none. The first of his two outings lasted just nine pitches and he didn't allow a hit. He gave up three hits and a home run in his second outing.
"I felt great, I executed pitches, I’m throwing hard, everything is moving the way I like, body is moving, so can’t complain at all," Holderman said.
Before being placed on the IL, Holderman threw 4 2/3 innings over five appearances, gave up six hits, five earned runs and allowed four walks while striking out six. He currently has an ERA of 9.64.
