Konnor Griffin's right elbow strain has put him on the 10-day injured list.
He'd played the past two games as designated hitter, those after being diagnosed, but the team decided this morning to shut him down. Ben Cherington said, "Well, there's rehab involved in any injury, so obviously we're not putting a date on it or anything like that. Based on the information we have now and the progress he's made since this cropped up, we remain optimistic that he'll be back playing for us before too long."
As the corresponding move, Ryan O’Hearn was activated from the 10-day injured list and will be available to play today against the Twins.
