The Pirates don’t have a timeline for Konnor Griffin’s return, as they’re being conservative with him and aren’t willing to take any risks as he recovers from a muscle strain that was confirmed in a meeting with Dr. Keith Meister during the team’s trip to Houston. Ben Cherington did say he’s received reports that Griffin is almost completely asymptomatic, so that’s an encouraging sign.
“Still believe he’s going to be part of our team, part of our lineup for the biggest chunk of the season,” Cherington said. “We’re probably at least adding some days onto what we had at one point.”
