• Canario singles to lead off the top of the ninth.

• Santana works a clean eighth with two strikeouts and a groundout. He hands it back over to the offense.

• He makes quick work of the first two batters he faced, getting a strike out and a ground out. 

• Dennis Santana gets the bottom half of the eighth.

• Horwitz and Davis go down in order to end the Pirates' seven-run eighth inning.

• HOME RUN: Reynolds cranks a 3-1 fastball at his waist into the left field seats for a three-run shot. This is the Pirates' highest-scoring inning this year. Pirates, 9-6

• Cruz reaches on a throwing error by Perdomo. 

• Jalen Beeks, a former Pirate, enters for Arizona and will face Cruz.

• RUNS: This one isn't over folks, IKF doubles down the left-field line, it rolls all the way to the corner and clears the bases. Tied, 6-6

• Hayes walks to load the bases for IKF. Saw six pitches before the last one was low and outside.

• RUN: Davis scores from third on a Pham RBI single. Perdomo's throw brought Naylor off the bag. Runners at first and second. Diamondbacks, 6-3

• Frazier gets fooled by a slider below the zone. One away.

• Canario singles through the left side as Davis freezes and then advances to third.

• Davis strokes a first pitch slider and doubles into the right-center gap. He's swinging a really nice bat as of late.

• Kevin Ginkel enters for Arizona. He'll face Davis.

• End of seventh inning: Wentz has now retired 10 straight after getting Smith to fly out to deep center. 

• Wentz freezes Suarez with an 0-2 fastball at the bottom of the zone. 

• Wow. Canario makes a great over the shoulder catch to take a hit away from Naylor. Wentz will be praising him for that catch. 

• Horwitz strikes out on a cutter that caught the outside edge.

• Reynolds hits a deep fly ball to the left field corner for a double. Went the other way with an inside cutter.

• Cruz with a lazy ground ball to second. Two away.

• IKF pops out to right field for the first out of the seventh.

• End of sixth inning: Wentz works another 1-2-3 inning with a ground out and flyout, following Carroll's strikeout.

• Wentz strikes out Carroll to start the bottom half of the sixth. That's his third K so far.

• Man, what a play by Lawlar there to rob Hayes of a base hit up the middle.

• Pham beats out an infield single to third. 

• Frazier is hit by a curveball. 

• Canario strikes out on a cutter down and outside the zone. 

• HOME RUN: Davis sends the first pitch he sees into the left field seats. Absolutely smoked that sinker. Diamondbacks, 6-2

• Reynolds draws a walk on five pitches.

• End of fifth inning: Wentz works a quick inning, setting down the D'backs in order with one flyout, one groundout and one strikeout.

• Henry Davis has entered the game. Bart was removed after a warmup pitch by Wentz, waved toward athletic trainer to take him out.

• Cruz goes down swinging on a 2-2 curveball way below the zone for a quick top half. 

• IKF grounds out to short. 

• Hayes goes down looking. 

• End of fourth: Wentz strikes out Smith with a 1-2 fastball to get out of the jam.

• Diamondbacks then execute a double steal with two away. 

• Suarez flies out to center.

• RUN: Naylor cranks an 0-1 curveball into center field, scoring Perdomo from second. Diamondbacks, 6-0

• RUN: Gurriel Jr. singles into left field, scoring Carroll from second. Diamondbacks, 5-0

• RUNS: Perdomo pokes a curveball into right field, scoring two. Diamondbacks, 4-0

• Gonna need some length out of Wentz, similar to what Ashcraft did last night.

• He goes to Joey Wentz.

• Burrows misplays a ground ball back to the mound and his throw to first is late. Bases are loaded, just one out. Here comes Kelly.

• Burrows just tried to pick off Thomas at second base ... but no one was near second base.

• Lawlar walks to put runners on first and second. Worked a six-pitch at-bat.

• RUN: Thomas singles into right field, scoring Moreno. Just put his bat in front of an inside curveball. Diamondbacks, 2-0

• Moreno triples in front of the pool in right center.Took advantage of a high fastball.

• Outside of Gurriel's double, Burrows has really settled in since the first inning. He retires Smith with a groundout to first.

• Pham pops out to second. That's a quick inning for Burnes.

• Frazier groundsout up the middle. Two away.

• Suarez makes a nice throw and Naylor makes a nice stretch to get Canario at first.

• End of third inning: Burrows strands another runner at third as Suárez pops up to shortstop. 

• Naylor then flies out to center and Gurriel Jr. advances to third.

• Gurriel Jr. ends up doubling to the left field corner on a curveball at the bottom of the zone.

• Kelly is right and the Pirates retain their challenge.

• Burrows hits Gurriel Jr. again but Kelly is going to challenge it and it looks like he may be right.

• Perdomo grounds out to Horwitz, who makes a nice pitch to Burrows covering the bag.

• Bart strands two runners with a groundout to short. 

• Horwitz now pokes one into left field for back-to-back singles.

• Reynolds jumps on a first-pitch cutter and goes the opposite way into left field. 

• Cruz strikes out on a low-and-in cutter. Burnes went after that location throughout that at-bat and it paid off.

• IKF swings at the first pitch he sees and grounds out to second. 

• End of second inning: Burrows freezes Carroll with a 2-2 inside curveball. Definitely got the benefit of the doubt with that call. 

• Burrows getting off to a much better start here in the second with back-to-back groundouts.

• Thomas grounds out to Burrows for an easy out. 

• Really quick top half for the Pirates as Frazier, Pham and Hayes go down in order with the latter two grounding out to short.

• Pham grounds out to short. 

• Frazier flies out to center field. 

• End of first inning: Burrows strands the bases loaded as he strikes out Moreno with a 2-2 slider that catches the outer edge. Moreno was not happy with the call. 

• Pirates get awfully lucky there as Smith hits a ball in front of home plate. Bart scrambled to gather it and then tagged out Gurriel Jr. 

• Suarez walks after an eight-pitch at bat and the bases are now loaded. Not the greatest start for Burrows.

• Two runners on now as Naylor singles to right.

• Burrows hits Gurriel Jr. with a changeup that missed up and in.

• Perdomo grounds out to first.

• HOME RUN: Carroll sends a 1-1 fastball at the top of the zone into the right field seats. An absolute, no doubter. Diamondbacks, 1-0

• Burnes fools Canario with an outside slider, shouldn't be surprised by that one. Canario has swung at those a majority of the time this season. 

• Bart showcases a little patience and walks on four pitches. That's his first walk since May 13.

• Naylor then makes another nice play at first as he leaps up to grab a one-hopper from Horwitz. Elects not to go for the double play. 

• Reynolds turns on a curveball in the middle of the zone for a single into right center. Made really nice contact there. 

• Naylor makes a nice play at first to rob Cruz of a hit down the line.
