• HOME RUN: George Lombard Jr. with a two-run shot off Barco. Not the best night for some of the Pirates' top pitching prospects. YANKEES, 12-3.

• HOME RUN: Andrew Velazquez goes deep the opposite way off Hunter Barco. YANKEES, 10-3.

• RUNS: Yankees have continued to build onto their lead. It's 9-3 behind a two-run single by Smith and an RBI single by J.C. Escarra. 

• RUNS: Been a rough outing for Bubba Chandler. Just delivered a wild pitch that scored Chisholm. Two-run single for Volpe, too. YANKEES, 6-3.

• Down to the clubhouse I go. 

• Clean inning for Bednar. 

• Jackson flies out to Cruz in center. Two down. 

• Bednar gets Rice to fly out to left to begin the bottom half of the fourth. Quick top half. Groundout, walk to Valdez and a double play off the bat of Palacios. 

• David Bednar warming up in the bullpen.

• Falter allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts in his 2 2/3 innings. 

• Grisham flies out to right to end the third. 

• J.C. Flowers replaces Falter.

• Falter gets Volpe swinging with a high sinker to conclude an eight-pitch at-bat and his night. Falter threw 29 of 49 pitches for strikes. Imagine his pitch count was at 50 for this one. 

• Bellinger follows with a first-pitch single. Fastball up in the zone. 

• Falter going right after Judge to start the third. Curveball and sinker taken in the zone. Then goes inside fastball before ultimately getting him on a check swing. Nice curveball to get the latter. 

• Triolo flies out to end the inning. 

• Suwinski reaches on an error by Volpe and then swipes second. 

• HOME RUN: Bart belts a first-pitch fastball from Ryan Anderson way out of here to left. Three-run shot. All tied.

• Cruz down swinging on a slider at the bottom of the zone. 

• Yorke goes the opposite way for a double, ending Fried's night. I've liked his at-bats tonight. Battling and swinging at good pitches. Sinker on the outer third. Again, Fried working away. 

• Pham draws a one-out walk. Fried was working him away before missing with an inside fastball. 

• Joshua Palacios retired 4-3 to begin the third. 

• Falter retires Chisholm 1-3 to end the second. A 27-pitch inning for Falter. 

• RUN: Yankees add another on a passed ball. YANKEES, 3-0.

• Falter responds by getting Oswald Peraza to swing through a four-seam fastball at the top of the zone. Worked high that entire AB. 

• Nice job by Cruz there to hit the cutoff man in Stewart rather than trying to gun one home. Halts the runner from going to second. It's the little things. 

• RUNS: Smith drives in two with a broken-bat single to center. Sinker on the inner third. YANKEES, 2-0.

• Another walk for Falter in this second inning. Jackson loads the baes for Dominic Smith. Bart will take a trip out to talk to Falter, who has struggled more with his command here after a clean first. 

• Rice grounds into a 4-6 fielder's choice. Runners on the corners with one out for Alex Jackson.

• Grisham draws the walk. Two on for Ben Rice.

• Trent Grisham gets some extra life after a ball falls in foul territory. Would've been an easy grab for either Valdez or Bart had one of them called it and not hesitated. 

• Anthony Volpe sends one up the middle for a leadoff single. 

• Fried gets Enmanuel Valdez swinging with a wicked curveball to end the top of the second.

• DJ Stewart is hit by a pitch. Appeared to take it off the hand. Quick visit from the trainer, but Stewart makes his way to first.

• Jared Triolo grounds into a 5-4 fielder's choice. 

• Jack Suwinski sends one out near the warning track in right, but Judge has enough room to make the catch. One away. 

• First hit of the night belongs to Joey Bart. Lines a single to center on a fastball over the middle of the plate. 

• One pitch and Cody Bellinger does the same. Falter threw seven of nine pitches for strikes in a strong first. Used all of his pitches, but leaned more toward curve and sinker. 

• Aaron Judge flies out to right. Two outs. 

• Falter makes quick work of Jazz Chisholm. Got a called strike on a first-pitch sinker, foul ball on a curve and another called strike on a sinker over the plate. 

• Fried gets Oneil Cruz looking at a 2-2 fastball that appeared outside. Ends the top of the first. 

• Nick Yorke fouls off a couple of tough pitches against Fried before ultimately grounding out to first. Two down. 

• Pham lines out to right-center field. Third fastball he saw from Fried.
