Pirates 5, Blue Jays 2: A stolen win without a swing

Paul Skenes throws a pitch in the first inning Monday at PNC Park.
The Pirates have been struggling to hit with runners on base, but on this night, they didn't need one to produce the decisive run in a 5-2 win over the Blue Jays at PNC Park.
After a seventh-inning leadoff double by Henry Davis, a Brendon Little wild pitch almost hit pinch-hitter Liover Peguero and allowed Davis to score to put the Pirates ahead 3-2. They added two insurance runs in the eighth on an error and a sacrifice fly by Davis.
Paul Skenes ran his pitch count up in the second and third innings before going into lockdown mode over his final three innings. He allowed two earned runs and struck out eight over six innings to produce his 16th quality start of the season.
Skenes on his start: "Thought we did a good job with our game plan and then adjusted to what they were doing pretty quickly."
