The Pirates have traded Hunter Stratton to the Braves for minor-league outfielder Titus Dumitru and cash considerations.
Dumitru, 22, has slashed .231/.310/.319 with a .629 OPS this season for high Class A Rome with three home runs, 36 RBIs and 26 walks. He's produced a 25.3% strikeout rate in 251 at-bats. He was drafted out of New Mexico State in the 16th round of last year's draft.
Stratton was designated for assignment on June 26. He produced a 23.63 ERA over 2 2/3 innings with the Pirates after recovering from a knee injury in August.
