Oneil Cruz homered twice, Paul Skenes shined again, and Adam Frazier sprinted home for the Pirates' winning run on an Abner Uribe wild pitch in the 10th inning to beat the Brewers, 6-5, tonight at PNC Park.
"It's a team win," Skenes said. "Obviously, Cruz came up clutch and then bottom of the order made stuff happen in the 10th there. Truly a team win."
Cruz's second home run, a 427-foot shot over the seats in right-center field, tied the score at 4-4 in the ninth-inning. Isaac Collins' RBI single off Ryan Borucki then pushed the Brewers back in front in the 10th. Alexander Canario's RBI single in the bottom half tied it right back up. Frazier was intentionally walked, took third on an Isiah Kiner-Falefa single -- while Canario was gunned down at home -- and scored three pitches later.
Skenes struck out eight over six innings, charged with one run on four singles and a walk. His ERA dipped to 2.36, 11th-lowest among qualified starters across Major League Baseball.
