Louisville's Eddie King Jr. is another offensive talent the Pirates added to their organization, drafting him with the 473rd overall pick in the 16th round.
King slashed .367/.435/.750 with 17 home runs and 63 RBIs. He also tallied 19 doubles and one triple. He drew 21 walks and struck out 38 times. To end his breakout season with the Cardinals, King was named to the College World Series All-Tournament team.
He produced those types of numbers throughout his career, but made a jump from his freshman to sophomore seasons, more than doubling his home-run output and increasing his slugging percentage by over .200 points.
