Branson Taylor became the first Pitt player selected in this year’s NFL Draft when the Los Angeles Chargers took him with the 199th overall pick in the sixth round today.

Taylor is a 6-foot-6, 321-pound offensive lineman who started all 11 games as a junior in 2023 -- three starts at right tackle, eight at left tackle -- and was limited to five starts as a senior this past season due to a knee injury and surgery that cost him the second half of the year.
Taylor is the fifth offensive lineman drafted under PatNarduzzi who entered college with a three-star or lower rating. He joins Matt Goncalves (2024, Indianapolis Colts, 3rd round, No. 79), Carter Warren (2023, New York Jets, 4th round, No. 120), JimmyMorrissey (2021, Las Vegas Raiders, 7th round, No. 230), and Brian O'Neill (2018, Minnesota Vikings, 2nd round, No. 62).
